„DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT FOR LANGUAGE CLASSROOMS, SCHOOL LIBRARIES, VARIOUS TYPES OF SPECIALISED CLASSROOMS
IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS“

Project objective2. Easier access to effective and higher‑quality public services 2.2.2 Improvement of key competences of primary school pupils.
Project descriptionThe overall objective of the submitted project is to create conditions for quality education and the development of pupils’ competences for their successful integration into the knowledge society. The project is prepared in accordance with Thematic Objective No. 10 and the IROP Investment Priority “Investing in education through the development of educational infrastructure”. It addresses the need to improve young people’s access to the labour market and to create space for pupils to become aware of their abilities and future opportunities. Equipping the primary school as the final beneficiary with specialised classrooms, their reconstruction or modernisation, and supplying them with didactic and learning aids will enable broader use of teaching methods for the development of pupils’ key competences, skills and abilities.

The project applicant is the Municipality of Balog nad Ipľom, where one primary school is located. This project concerns Arnold Ipolyi Primary School with Hungarian as the language of instruction, with 115 pupils and an IIÚ index of 23.15. The place of implementation is therefore the RIÚS of the Banská Bystrica Region, Veľký Krtíš District. The reason for preparing the project is that the school lacks the technical and material resources to face the current challenges of primary education and feels the need to improve conditions for pupils’ development in science subjects and vocational skills. The condition of the specialised classrooms corresponds to the time they were established, and the teaching aids have undergone no major renewal.

Through 5 main activities, the renewal of the Chemistry/Biology classroom and the Physics classroom is carried out. Construction and assembly works are designed to the minimum extent necessary to adapt the existing school premises into functional specialised classrooms and form part of the relevant main activities. Successful implementation of the activities will fulfil the specific objectives of the project: improvement of technical equipment
Specific objective 1 of the projectPhysics classroom
Specific objective 2 of the projectChemistry/Biology classroom
Specific objective 3 of the projectPolytechnical classroom – school workshop
Specific objective 4 of the projectICT classroom
The project objectives are in line with the expected results of IROP support. The project addresses 5 measurable indicators. The modernisation of equipment will respect the needs of inclusive education.
