By 20 February 2026 – submission of application forms to the primary school headteacher (for all secondary schools)
18 March 2026 – Testing 9 mathematics + Hungarian language and literature
19 March 2026 – Testing 9 Slovak language and literature
23 March 2026 (if necessary 24, 25) – talent examinations at secondary schools, 1st term
30 March 2026 (if necessary 31 March, 1 April) – talent examinations at secondary schools, 2nd term
1 April 2026 – Testing 9 (substitute term at a venue designated by the self‑governing region) mathematics + Hungarian language and literature
8 April 2026 – Testing 9 (substitute term at a venue designated by the self‑governing region) Slovak language and literature
15 April 2026 – the secondary school headteacher publishes the results of the admission procedure (where talent examinations were held)
By 20 April 2026 – enrolment at secondary schools (where a talent examination took place)
4 May 2026 (if necessary 5 May) – entrance examinations – 1st term
11 May 2026 (if necessary 12 May) – entrance examinations – 2nd term
15 May 2026 – the secondary school headteacher publishes the results of the admission procedure
By 20 May 2026 – enrolment at secondary schools
16 June 2026 – entrance examinations – additional term (in schools where the intake capacity has not been filled)
